Default Lipodissolve - The Liposuction Alternative

Liposuction is the surgical procedure used to reduce fat cells in the skin. In liposuction fat is sucked out the skin via tubes inserted into tiny skin incisions. Liposuction is generally done as an outpatient procedure except in cases where large volumes of fat are being removed. Those cases usually involve an overnight stay in a hospital or surgical center. Liposuction may involve a local anesthetic or general anesthesia. Since it is a surgery, there are possible complications or risks involved in the procedure. A new alternative to liposuction is Lipodissolve.

Lipodissolve is a non-surgical treatment designed to reduce fat deposits in the body. In lipodissolve, Phosphatidylcholine is injected into the skin in areas where fat reduction is desired. Phosphatidylcholine is a substance normally found in the body. Phosphatidylcholine increases the good HDL cholesterol levels in the body and helps with brain function. It is also effective in increasing metabolism and maintaining lipid balance. Phosphatidylcholine helps break down fat cells, which are then excreted in the urine or feces.

To be effective, lipodissolve usually requires several sessions. Only a certain amount of Phosphatidylcholine can be injected into the body at a time. One particular area cannot be treated more often than two weeks apart, but weekly sessions can be accomplished by treating different areas of the body. Each area may be injected between 4 and 5 times per session. A patient may begin to see results from lipodissolve within 1 to 2 weeks. It may take up to 6 months for the full effect to take place.

Lipodissolve is a good alternative to liposuction. Unlike liposuction, lipodissolve does not require a long recovery time immediately after the surgery. No stitches are needed and pain and bleeding are minimal. Most people are able to resume their normal activities immediately after the injections. Some people experience minor itching, bruising, soreness, or swelling for a couple days. The risk of infection is much higher for liposuction than lipodissolve. Liposuction can cause uneven dimples in areas where fat has been removed whereas lipodissolve usually maintains a smooth appearance after the appearance and in future weight gain. Unlike liposuction, lipodissolve is effective in reducing the unsightly appearance of cellulite. The cellulite will not reappear unless the patient gains weight. Lipodissolve costs a fraction of the cost of liposuction. The main benefit liposuction has over lipodissolve is that the effect is more instantaneous. In lipodissolve, fat reduction is a gradual process that can take up to 6 months with an average of 2 to 3 months.

Laser liposuction is a relatively new alternative to liposuction. Laser LiPo basically what it sounds like it is a fat removal technique that uses a laser to liquefy fat.
