Default laser for beard

I wanna to remove my beard but it was very painful last time .
I heard Kiora now has access to a special transdermal gel and adrenaline that works much more quickly than the old emla creams.
so can i offer that before the hair remove?
I am willing to undergo the inconvenience of waiting some extra time.

We have found that generally the topical anaesthetics of any kind - including the very strong prescription only variety - to be very ineffective for relieving the pain of laser hair reduction.

Topical anaesethetics are very good at softening the pain of a short sharp shallow pain like a needle. They are very poor at relieving the pain of something deeper like a suture, excision of a skin lesion or injection of dermal fillers. You will find very very few doctors happy to do any of the above listed procedures with any topical anaestethetic, even xylocaine with adrenline, under very few circumstance (eg unable to get a good nerve block)

Presumably because the laser is heating the skin the pain is too deep for a mere cream to help with the pain.

On a side note topical anaesthetics are not totally safe and it is possible to overdose on them causing potentially fatal cardiac arrythmias. There is at least one recorded death from emla cream overdose in america from a lady who smeared far too much on her legs, covered it with glad wrap, went to sleep and never woke up. I would advice everyone to be very careful of using such creams over large surface areas.

Noya did they use a cooling machine? I couldnt' believe how much better a little bit of cold air really helped the pain along. If you couldn't bear it last time the beard was zapped you should ask for a cooling machine

HI Noya,

I purchased some Emla myself before treatment and put it on for a whole hour beforehand. I found it completely useless.

There might have some slight difference in pain or it might just be me tricking myself into thinking there was less pain to justify the 30 bucks I spent

Depending on if you go to laser hair removal treatments at a doctor ran facility, the doctor can provide pain killers such as valium and percocet. We've had patients in other states that got both in a one-time prescription per treatment only.

I think that it is depend on you that, if you wanted laser treatment or not, but according to me I think that laser hair removal is not for everyone's skin. Laser beard removal is a process that can be used by men, Many men have started joining in the removal of unwanted hair on the face forever.
