"Golden Ratio" for lips?

Is it just me or does it seem like the "golden ratio" of beauty for lips no longer holds true? Anyone who did grade 10 Art classes was taught the golden ratial 1:1.67 of perfect harmony and beauty, right?

In the case of lips, the "Ideal" bottom lip is supposed to be 1.67 times thicker than the top lip. Certainly all the classicle paintings display this ratio. But looking at Angelina, or Scarlette, who I believe are incredibly beautiful. Their top and bottom lips are almost the same size. Have we all been brain-washed by the media and pop culture?

I actually really like the new equal sized upper and lower lip.

Its not so much a golden ratio thing as a fashion thing.


Equal size top and bottom lips just mean you get a lot more sensual puckered look.

Modern fashions are swinning towards teh sensual not the elegant

I agree with Jomol on one account. It is a fashion thing. But I disagree on the reasoning from that point onwards.

Big lips is just a transient fashion thing. Like big boofy 80s hair or super high platform shoes.

It will definitely swing out of fashion one day and then you will be left with photos where everyone thinks you have a fat lip from you boyfriend hitting you.

I much prefer the classic golden ratio lips. Its classic for a reason. You can never go wrong in the long term

Another reason never to have permanent fillers injected into your lips!

Besides obvious disastrous risks such as the silicon clumping, migrating and causing infections.

Have to say I love Johanssen's lips and have tweaked my lips far from the ideal ratio these days.

I've measured my lips with as much precision as possible. After some quick calculations I realised my lower lip is only 1.453777 times the ratio of my upper lip

After some precise measurements it seems my UPPER lip is 1.78912431 times as big as my lower lip.

oh the shame of it!
