They tell you to shave before coming in but I had better results when I shaved 24 hours before coming in. The laser is attracted to the black dot of your hair so if you are shaved too close you don't have as good as a result, at least that was my experience. And yes it does hurt a bit but oh so worth it. Gets rid of ingrown hairs in the future where you were lasered too....

Default how to prepare for a hair removal

I have heard that you can use baby oil , it will make your hair oily but you can wash out afterwards. Also leave conditioner on and brush your hair till it comes out.

Default Loaded question not everyone wants patients to shave before hand

That is a loaded question. I prefer my clients not to shave before there sessions actually, other practioners tell there patients to shave before there treatment so they don't have more work to do by shaving them.

Definetly less sun means less chance of getting a laser burn or scar, I usually tell my patients no sun or tanning for at least four weeks before treatment to be safe.

Of course going for walks or working out outside in the spring and summer in Austin, TX your going to get some sun, so I tell people to at least put on the 40 SPF sun screen, where a hat, sunglasses, and light long sleeve shirt if possible.

Hope that helps.
