I previously thought only surgery could change my sqaured off jaw into something more delicate.

Square jaws are all well and good for patriotic american soldiers but it doesn't really suit me, my new Milano Blahniks nor my fave outfit.

I definitely don't want surgery. Can botox really round out my jawline? Has anyone tried it?

I actually asked this self same question on the forum a while ago. Apparently the botox can be used to shrink the chewing muscles. By shrinking these muscles which can become overlarge the whole line of hte jaw can be changed from a square profile to a more oval profile.

Its very popular here in Hong Kong and many people are getting it instead of surgery.

I've had 2 friends get it done now and there is a definite difference in the shape of the jaw

I've been reading about this too. They say the jaw can get tired easily on chewing. Did your friends find this?

Does it stop you from eating?

I've been watching this forum for 3 months now and the information is fantastic. Today I thought I had better contribute a bit to it so I'm now registered rather than a guest.

I've had botox for the masseters done about a year ago.

One word of warning. Your mouth gets very tired very fast in the first 3 weeks! Do not order a big steak you do not want to be chewing anything repeatedly. Noodles and pastas and rice dishes are fine so I was ok.

I was really pleased with my results. My cheeks were massive thanks to a lifetime love affair with food (and steaks!) and the botox really helped to slim down the whole profile.

I think it was worth it. I also lost 2kg because I couldn't chew my favourite food for a fortnight!

Hopes this helps people interested. I recommend it.

Do you think some of the slimming of the cheeks was due to the weight loss mighty mouth?

another question.

Did the botox make any of the wrinkles around the cheeks go away.

Be nice to do two birds with one stone if it does.

Hi Starfish. I didn't lose that much weight!!!!!!

It wasn't like I was drinking my dinner through a straw for 6 months.

I could eat pretty much normally again within 2 weeks. I just had to avoid the huge steaks my bf adores. So no the slimming of the cheeks wasn't because I had lost so much weight.

With regards to the wrinkle question I'm only 28 so I like to think there were no wrinkles to smooth anyway. I'll tell you in 10 years time whether its good for a dual purpose face slimming, wrinkle busting treatment though.

The treatment does cause a gradual recession in the muscle mass of the cheeks.

By shrinking the cheek you often improve the "balance" of the features. A lot of people with very heavy cheeks appear to have too much weight in the lower part of the face which overpowers their upper features - often at the expense of the eyes

Botox for the massters will shrink the massester muscle. This is both proven clinically where it often presents as a more aesthetically pleasing face. The face is nicely rebalanced. Your upper features like the eyes become more noticeable instead of bein overpowered by the hypertrophied cheeks

And also proven on conclusively on CT scan which shows a much smaller muscle mass after treatment

Can it still change the shape of your face if your cheeks aren't extra large?

Or is this technique only suitable for people with extra large, extra strong teeth?

I love eating. And I do chew a lot.

Are you guys telling me not only is the large amounts of eating (chewing) I'm doing making me ahem more rotund but is it also making my cheeks extra big from overworking the chewing muscles?

Is my love of food bit only making me cuddly but also giving me a square jaw?

And will I ever end the rhetorical questions?

You just can't win. Looks like I better save up for botox and lipodissolve.

Either that or eat less :)
