Ok.
After months of agonising discussion between my partner and my beloved chest hair I've decided to get a reduction. Not removal.
I've now run into a problem. How do you get the hair on your back really short? I've used my trusty braun razor to get the chest hair short but I'm having trouble reaching areas of my back.
Obviously I took my nick because of the hair not the length of the arms

What no gorilla length arms?
Get your partner to do it with a razor. Though if she is anything like mine you'll cop a fearful ribbing.
They'll invariably manage to nick or cut you too.

If you are anything like me using a razor will just totally clog it up, blunt it and then you'll get cut. With a blunt razor. It hurts.
I had to get the electric clippers out first, then my electric shaver then get the hair really short with a razor at the end.
Definitely enlist some support. Its tricky without it.
try using some of the hair removal creams. Much easier than trying to jam a razor into some of the small recesses on the small of the back.
I use one called nair and it works great. You put it on in the shower then you sort of scrape the hair off. It gives the closest finish.
Remember just don't wax the hair off! If you pull the hair out by its root there'll be nothing for the laser to track down into the follicle

This is actually a really important part of the laser hair removal procedure. The shorter the hairs the better the hair removal result. So its critically important males get the hairs on their back as short as possible. The hairs should be as short as a good shave with a razor and should be done either the morning of or the night before the treatment.
My patients have found the following the best way of getting the hairs really short and close to the back. Especially when they have very thick back and chest hair.
1. Use a hair clipped to initially cut the hair very short
2. Optional but it gives a very good result. Use a hair removal cream in the shower brands like Nair are fine. It allows you to get really short hairs. You can virtually get rid of the hairs with a butter knife. They are good.
3. Use either a razor blade (gillettes are good because they nick less frequently - which is easy to do when you are using a razor on your back using a mirror as a guide) or more easily a good electric shaver like a Braun or Phillips triple head.
Just remember. You want the skin about as smooth as your face would be after a good shave. And DO NOT wax.
If the hair is pulled out by the root there is nothing for our laser to target and heat up the follicle.

I helped my brother shave his back for laser hair removal.
I think everyone should get someone to help them. I can'timaging anyone doing a nice close shave of their own back. Its pretty tricky

hi there....
Take a hot bath or shower to open up your pores and pull hair out from the skin. If you don't do this, you may have stubble shortly after you shave.Put pre-shave oil onto your back. This protects your skin by putting a protective layer between the skin and your razor and also allows the razor to glide easily over the skin.Dip a wet shaving brush into a good shaving cream. The motion of the brush along the back will lift the hair up off the skin and prepare it for shaving.Lather the back with the brush and the shaving cream. Get it really sudsy before you begin to shave.Ask a helper to shave your back in long careful strokes, rinsing the blade often.Take another shower to rinse off all hair and remaining shaving cream
Moisturize your back with just a bit of the oil......

As you have a partner then get them to help you.
I know its not always everyones first choice (trusting someone else with a blade on your body) but trying to do it yourself is just going to end up with you cutting your back to shreds.
Seriously get them to do it for you, its the only way. Its not like they wont have used a razor on themselves before.

Man with a lot of hair will get some on his back, especially as he ages,Put pre-shave oil onto your back. This protects your skin by putting a protective layer between the skin and your razor and also allows the razor to glide easily over the skin.
