Botox in Ft. Lauderdale area....

Hi,

I live in Plantation Florida, basically in the surrounding area of Ft. Lauderdale. I have been very interested in getting Botox injections on my forhead. I am looking for that youthful look....I am curious if anyone here on this board know of any Doctors and costs in my area.

Most of the people here are from Australia but there is the occasional member from the US of A here.

I know in Australia we charge anywhere between $12-20 per unit. Which works out to about $9-16US dollars.

Hi Moira,

You won't regrest taking the plunge! Botox is great for forehead lines. Just be a bit careful though.

At least here in australia we tend to mainly botox the frown area between the eyes. This knocks out that scowl between you lines and has the effect of widening the eyes and softening the forehead.

The doctors I've been to in Australia tend not to put too much into the forehead itself to smooth out the lines for a couple of reasons

1. Botoxing the scowl smoothes out these lines anyway
2. If you botox the forehead area too much you get that shiny plastic look over the forehead that some of the actresses have
3. By not botoxing the forehead you can still raise you eyes in surprise etc and look quite natural
4. Most people have a fringe that covers up the uppermost forehead lines anyway so its not worth botoxing
5. Botoxing the forehead gives you a greater risk of getting a heavier lid.


To find a good injector australia has a website run by allergan (the makers of botox) called www.wrinkles.com.au that finds fully qualified injectors in your region. I'm sure there must be a USA equivilent. You just put in your postcode and it brings up all the doctors within a given radius of your address.

Guess I am really loosing it...the frown lines are interferring with my thoughts! lololol. I just noticed it said Australia....guess I am going to have to find a forum here in the states. I cannot believe I didn't even notice that. but I do appreciate all the information regarding Botox. but I know one thing.....I am going to get it done.

Hi Moira. I'm not from Florida but I do know that in general around my area (houston) people charge about $15/unit. Some more some less. Beware of places that charge $11/unit. This is usually done by nurse injectors rather than doctors.

This is probably the best way to get started. Either that or get a personal recommendation is best.

When my usual Botox Doctor was away once before a big family fathering I actually found a Doc who could do an "emergency botox" from the website. She worked out to be very good too. I went back to my normal doctor after that but she was certainly very skilled and reasonable
