hello

I had my first botox yesterday - frown lines, forehead (I think that was a 'brow lift) and some into my 'bunny lines' on sides of nose.

So far nothing...yes, I know you're supposed to not see anything for at least 3 days, but is it totally normal to notice no difference at all a day later?

My skin seems blotchy and I can see some tiny little bruises. Movement seems normal.

Does everyone experience this...I know this is supposedly normal after one day, but Im excited about getting results, and just hoping that this is what everyone experiences.

Why does botox take 3 days to show up and then around 2 weeks to take full effect??

Also, what kind of improvement can I expect from my 'brow lift'?

thanks :)

Day three today. I see an improvement in my frownlines and I cant frown as easily as before, but i can still form a frown and can still see my frown line.

Is this normal for day three - how long before I can no longer form a frown and I see a really firm and line free effect?

Someone reading this must remember their first botox and can give me advice. I guess Im just anxious to see results and know that it's working..

I'm always told to wait at least 14 days for the full effect of botox to kick in.

I've noticed there is a gradual softening each day. For myself all movement stops about 9 days after botox

This sounds about right electra.

I have always wondered though. If you see the full effect of your botox very early say at about 5 days after injection, which is when all movement stops for me, does this mean my doctor is overdosing me?

Should she only be using enough botox so I get full effect 14 days after my botox is injected.

Just wondering if anyone on the forum knows?

Thats a good thought golden pigeon. I never thought about the botox in those terms and I've been getting it for many (many) years now.

I wonder if the botox kicks in too fast whether the doctor didin't just use too much?

Can any of the doctors on the forum answer this?

I have to admit I've wondered about this same thing myself botox queen.

Botox is said to be only working at 40% effectiveness at 3 days. And only works at 100% at 12 days.

It makes a certain kind of sense. If the botox is working perfectly after 3 days (when its supposed to only by 40% effective) then maybe they could get away with using half the dose!

I thought it was a case if the botox lasted a long time ie like 6 months, then you can reduce the dose

Did they say whether they were using botox or dysport. I find botox works longer in some people and dysport works longer in others

Hello all - new member here. I had 24units of botox into my frown lines 2 days ago. Nothing happening so far. I know it's too early, but it's hard not to get excited, I'm dying to see if it works for me!

If it lasts 6 months isnt that a good thing? And if it kicks in faster- (possibly being dosed slighter more than others), isnt that a good thing too? I would prefer to be overdosed than underdosed I would think, afterall wouldnt one save alot of money this way? Are there any health risks in being slighter overdosed?
