So what do people on the forum think.

Which one is better for fuller lips the botox or the fillers. Restylane or botox? And why?

I'm going to try to start up a poll so forgive me if it all goes ugly :)

I agree how can botox make your lips look bigger?

Sorry for my naivity. Why would Botox make lips fuller? Doesn't it paralyse the muscle?

I think the theory is a touch of botox can weaken the muscles along the top lip.

Thus when you smile it is less likely to disappear into a thin lines. It doesn't plump the lips but it does prevent them from been stretched into a thin line when you smile

Would this make the lip look thicker when you are smiling?

If the muscles can't pull it into a thin line then the lip will remain nice and plump

Botox is for lines in the face and wouldnt make lips appear larger in any way. I have been getting fillers in my lips for over 10 years now to keep them large and more youthful and Juviderm is by far the best option rather than restyln for me. For me Juviderm has laster over a year and unlike restyln I dont get any bumps. It is really natural looking no-one not even my partner notices that I have had anything done as my lips are naturally quite large but with age I found that they were appearing thinner but with maintenence over 10years with many different fillers I have found I have managed to keep my lips nice and plump without looking unnatural and without spending a fortune. I think I will stick with Juviderm in the meantime.

I'm wanting something permanent too, but I'm a bit afraid of the permanent injectibles due to the permanency of any problems as well, such as lumps and chronic inflammatory conditions. Artecoll is not just longer lasting, it's permanent. Many people have really good results with silikon 1000 (a medical grade silicone) using the microdroplet technique, and it works by the same mechanism as artecoll. You are fortunate that your Resty lasts as long as it does. If mine lasted that long, I'd probably just stick with it and forget permanent fillers. Do you know anything about the injection depth that your doctor uses for the Resty? I know what is recommended, but I'm just wondering if another depth has been found to be more effective.
