This is a lead in to my post from the other thread about the benefits of IPL vs Laser.

Are all IPLs or lasers used in australia for permanent hair removal FDA approved?

According to A Current Affair 80-90% of all IPLs in Australia did not have this approval. Can I trust this program?

Short answer: nope.

However in this case it wouldn't surprise me. My best friend went 12 times to the same day spa and there was really no change in her hair at all. No one can have any possible evidence that laser was any good. I think it was an IPL. She totally wasted her money

Laser hair removal is almost completely unregulated. Just make sure you ask what sort of machine they use, who does it, what sort of qualifications they have and what their results are like.

The consensus on the forum is there are a lot of dodgy places out there. Be careful and good luck.

I don't know about Australian regulations, but there is only a few hair removal lasers in the U.S that FDA approved. I would try to stay with either the LightSheer Diode Laser (best in the world in our opinion and first to be FDA approved in US) and the Candela laser. Just Google those those two lasers and see who in your area has them or not. Good luck :D
