Hi,

I would like to know how long the teeth whitening process takes? How long is it expected to last?

Cheers.

Good question bright eyes.

There are 2 real ways of whitening teeth. In- office and take home whitening. In- office whitening like zoom! take approx 1 hour where you sit and relax while the whitening gel and laser light do all the work. The other option is the take home kit where you use whitening trays and the gel and do it in the comfort of your own home. This can take anything from 1 hour/ day for 3days up to using it overnight for 7 days. The most effective way to whiten is in-office followed by take home. This will give maximize the effectivness of the whitening process and will give the most predictable and lasting results.

How long it last s variable. Depends on external factors like coffee, wine, tea, smoking as well as other extrinsic staining agents. Results will last for 6-12 monthsa. At this stage you may experience fading of the result. Not a worry though as with the take home trays you can always pop them back in and top up the results. So theoretically you can have white teeth for life.

Hi Bigfella,

I was thinking of getting it done before my wedding. Is it suitable for me? Should I go for the in-office procedure or the 7 day course? And most importantly, will it make my teeth lots whiter for my photos?
