Can someone explain to me the basic differences and relative advantages of these three procedures.

What does everyone here think each procedure should be used for or is good for?

Hi Gumnut_gal.

Its not your fault. One of senior members should really get round to making up a FAQ. Starfish?? Jomol31??

This was discussed sometime back but basically all the fat dissolving injections (lipodissolve, mesotherapy, lipolysis etc) all use the same active ingredient (phosphatidylcholine ... that spelling might be totally wrong) which sort of stimulates the immune system to reabsorb a small amount of fat with each treatment.

Apparently its most effective for cellulite but most people on this forum have done it to decrease fat/fat pockets.

Hope this helps

How does this phosphatidylcholine work?

Does it just dissolve the fat? Is it like an acid?

Hi aaron,

There used to be a sticky on this one. A realyl really detailed explanation from Dr.grace that to be honest gave me a headache.

Do a search on phosphatidylcholine and you should find the old stick thread

I see a lot of phosphatidyl choline for sale directly on the internet.

Would this be safe to inject yourself with an insulin needle?

Its a lot cheaper

Hi DoRayMe. Injecting yourself doesn't sound like a great idea.

There's been a few reports of a couple of things going not quite right on this forum. From excessive bruising, pain and I think someone mentioned they got a small abscess from this.

Doesn't sound like the sort of thing you should be doing yourself

So what do people think.

Liposuction or lipodissolve?

Hi misspiggy.

There was a recent poll on this titled

I think

surgery vs lipodissolve

do a search on it. It was quite a heated topic for a while as I remember

Treatment is in the form of multiple injections made using very fine needles with ice or local anesthetic cream to numb the area. The injections are not painful. The effects start to appear in a couple of days and the best result is seen in a week.

Liposuction and lipodissolve remove fat by different methods (mechanical vs. chemical), they are best used for differently-sized fat issues. Small areas may be taken down with LipoDissolve, larger areas require traditional liposuction.
