Can you get a fake tan befor laser hair removal?
Solarium?
Every website I've looked at suggests you stay out of the son but I want to know if fake tan is ok? Failing that I guess a solarium can make me a bit less pasty pale.

Solariums. definite no-no. They use UV light afterall.
Dunno bout fake tan though. I've never really thought of getting fake tan before a course of laser hair removal.
I got all of mine done over winter so there was no need for tan for beach or whatever

As someone else said.
Any UV light is an absolute no. Solariums use heaps of UV light so they are out!
I don't know about fake tan though. I know lots of melanin makes it hard but fake tan doesnt stimulate melanin. Might have to ask some of the docs.

Generally we recommend people don't have spray tan before laser hair removal.
Any colour of the skin lessens the effectivenss of the laser. Since spray tan only lasts a maximal of 10 days and most laser hair removal takes place in winter (to avoid the UV and sunbaking problem) this doesn't seem to be a big problem.

Ditto Claudia,
My last spa didn't tell me that either. No wonder the 2nd time I got lasered it hurt so much more

Just wondering whats it like getting lasered then covering up the bit of redness with fake tan?
Does it cover it up nicely?
Or is it a bit like getting a body capsule then a tan where the products mean the fake tan doesn't go on evenly. Will the tan be even or a bit splotchy because of the laser?

Mmmm didn't realise a tan was a problem.
If you always need a tan for you job is laser hair removal pretty much out of the question?

HI promo_model,
the consensus here seems to be you can get a course of laser hair removal then get your fake tan AFTER.
No solariums or sun exposure though.
That should take care of your need for a tan. Just find a good spray tan place.

Hmmm this is going to make laser hair removal pretty tough in summer.
You have to stay out of the sun AND you can't even get a fake tan.
Sounds like I'll get all my sessions done in winter. I don't particularly relish the thought of lying around like a pasty white .... errrr piggy ..... (the nick is appropriate) on the beach/around the house on a hot summer day.

The laser machines helped a lot they controlled the strength of the laser, unlike at spas where there is only one level of intensity. So I can also suggest that its better to go on the doctor first to seek advise before going tan.
