Juvoderm for dark circles...

I just watched Dr 90210 and one of the docs used Juvoderm to puff up the depressions under the eye thus reducing the black circle look. Anyone know of this being done in Australia?

Geeze, my SO commented about my 'black eye' the other day. I scowled and told him it's age that's doing it to me! My face is creating hollows as I get older and throwing shadows. I'll ask my nurse injector when I next see her about Juvaderm, marakesh.

I don't know about this one.

I think it was botox queen but she said something like the problem with filling in the depressions beneath the eyes is it de-emphasises the cheek bones.

Makes the face look a bit flat and featureless.

Sigh. You really do get nothing for free :(

I've just had my monthly peel (good lord, they upped the price from $110 to $165!) and I asked about the Juvaderm for dark circles. I was told that Juvy is hylauronic acid the same as Restylane. It's produced by the Allergan (Botox) crew and in competition with Resty.

The clinic I attend uses Perlane, for plumping up this under eye area known as the 'tear troughs'. It has larger molecules than Resty and is a product also made by Restylane.

My understand is that Juvaderm also has larger molecules than Restylane so would think Juvaderm is in competition with Restylane's big sister, Perlane.

Like Sleepless noted, these products in this area do tend to give a flat appearance. There's always the added consideration of needing to then inject the cheeks to further define the face. Plumping your tear troughs could mean you end up looking like a pug.

And then try to work out whether I should use perlane, restylane, juvederm or nothing at all for that area :)

Thats funny,

I was always under the impression the particles of juvederm were far smaller than either restylane or perlane.

This was the reason explained to me for its greater softness.


Maybe I heard wrong. I will ask my doc the next time
