Hi everyone,

And thanks for the PM recommendations of people in darwinn (thanks claudia!)

For a botox virgin what questions should I be asking of the doctor? I've done a fair bit of reading on the internet about this so I consider myself well informed.

Still I'm fairly nervous. Not only will this be the 1st time but my entire group of friends are sorta group botox virgins. None of us have ever had it before. So I've got no benchmark to ask questions against.

Help will be much appreciated!

I'd want to know if the Doctor will be doing the injecting him or herself? If not why not and who will and whats their experience?

Marakesh's questions are high on my list too.

In addition I would ask to see their portfolio of patients

Get a quote for how much it will cost.

Ask them how much it will cost if you need a top up.

Why would the doctor not be doing the injection themself? I'm seeing a doctor right?

Thats the thing, it isn't always a doctor who does the injecting. I can't find a Doctor in Perth that does it. It seems to be done by "nurse injectors" a lot of the time. Try a search because we have had a bit of a debate about this question. Some people have had very good nurse injectors. Some haven't. I think the consensus was that it is hard to find doctors that do it because they can make more money doing other cosmetic work.

this has been coming up in a couple of recent threads too.

You should ask if they are using botox or dysport. Since dysport is cheaper you should be paying less.

And marakesh. You are up late tonight - or should I say this morning!

Thanks everyone,

that was a lot more hopeful than I had ever hoped for.

I've taken the time to read around the forum. It certainly sounds like I should find a doctor who injects personally.

I'm going to ring up tomorrow and make sure the doctor recommended to me does

Don't worry lisa,

These guys are great and definitely do all their own injecting. Really nice guys and I've been to a LOT of doctors over the years.
