Hi,

I really need to know if anyone has had juvederm for marionette lines and lips? A couple of urgent questions!!!

Do you bruise? swell? anything else??

I have been told you can, but how long does it last on average ( the burising and swelling) I want to book to get it done but only have a four day break between two events!!! I really dont want people to notice!!! Well what I should say is I dont want people to see bruises!!!

Please help..is it possible.

Get the juvederm done on the first of your 4 days off!

I've had it done 3 times now. On the 2nd occassion I got a bit complacent and got uvederm done on a wednesday with 2 more days left of my working week.

I got really bad bruising and had to make up a story about walking into the door. Hard. The bruising was really bad and noticeable. I could cover it up with make up but I wouldn't want to be getting it done a week before a big event

Thanks for your reply Yohanna, maybe i might have to cancel one of the events.
Did you have juvederm in your lips and marionette lines ? or just one? Do you think a week would be a more realistic timeframe??

I am scared I will look terrible!!!!

anyone else able to help?

Theo a few months ago I had restyline put into my lips. I bruised and swelled really badly. I was horrified! I stayed hidden for four full days then went to work with makeup covering the last of the bruising and swelling. Really it was a full week before the swelling was gone enough for others not to notice.

You might be taking a bit of a risk if you have two events where you need to look okay. Bruising and swelling also seems to depend on injectors method. Mine was done an old fashioned way with minimal number of injections (more product in the same area). Others here didn't get bruising and swelling and they had tiny amounts injected 20-25 times.
Not sure if that helps.

Hi theo,

No need to be too fearful. I've finally found myself a good injector and I haven't had disasterous bruising since.

There was a small amount but it was easily covered with makeup. I use extra thick makeup or big events anyway (age has not been kind) so it wasn't any trouble to cover up the small bruises.

In general I agree with the sentiments of the other posters here. Much better to get it done 1-2 weeks before a big event. A month would give you heaps of safety time!

Hi theo,

Any reason you are going for juvederm over restylane?

I only first heard about juvederm on this forum 2 or so months back and now it seems like everyone wants it instead of good ol' resty.

I second everyone else though. Get it done at least 1 week before a big event

Thanks so much for the resposes everyone, its very helpful. I have booked to have it done next week!!!! cancelled one event so that gives me 8 days!! Hope that's enough time.

My doc recommended Juvederm, so that's why I went with it.

Well, its done, today at 4.00, four hours ago. It actually didn't hurt as much as I thought. Not exactly pleasant, but not too bad.

My lips were pretty swollen straight away, I have been icing them lots, and its gone down abit, or else I am getting used to them already!!!

Now I just wait I guess..

Do they look good? Are they lumpy?

Nice to know the pain wasn't too bad and you didn't get the dreaded bruising!

I am happy so far. There is one small lump, you can't seem it but I can feel it with my tongue. The swelling is really gone down well. The marionette lines are bruised though, especially one side, probably the size of a 20cent piece, the other side a couple of tiny bruises.
Overall I am happy so far, its hasn't been 48 hours since it was done.

I can't see any difference with the botox yet!!! Although something feels abit different when I really try to raise my eyebrows!

I have had juvederm on lips and labia lines. I had no bruising and minimal swelling for 2 days. A product called Arnica was recommended to me by my Dr. to reduce bruising. It is sold in health food stores and really helped me.

I had one amp in my lips and nothing was noticiable after a day.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I have been using the Arnica since yesterday. The lips are great, I love them. The bruising is in the marionette lines, not too bad though, but you can definately see it!!!

You meant to say "labial" lines didn't you Jumanji??

hehehe,

Although maybe I shouldn't laugh.

Apparently there are some really rich doctors offering thermage to tighten the private bits down there. Its a non-invasive alternative to vulvoplasty.

I guess juvederm could reconstruct both sets of lips :)
