This was a big issue with photorejuvenation and male's who wanted to retain the ability to grow a moustache and/or beard.
Does fraxel decrease the density of facial hair? will I still be able to grow my cool yet slightly sinister looking trident beard after a course of fraxel? :)

The real question Mrgym isn't whether fraxel will decrease your facial hair.
The real question , mrgym, is why would you ever want to grow a sinister yet "cool" trident beard? :)

if you had half a brain u would call up a clinic with fraxel and ask them. if you want a professional answer. and they would go indepth for you gauranteed.

*sigh* this is going to be a busy sunday.
Please refrain from abusive language amonster. The forum has very strict rules on both this and spamming.
And just to recap a forum is an area where people who have had the procedure can share their experiences and give their OPINIONS on the procedure they had done. No one is looking for definitive answers.
It is usually considered polite not to give 5 word reply.

Oh come now jomol. Amonster wouldn't give me a trite 5 word reply. He gave me a very courteous SIX word reply.
.... and then called me a half brain. I'm not offended in the slightest.
And for your information amonster I thoroughly research everything before I get it done - both on authoritative internet sites and multiple consultations with multiple doctors. With regards to hair loss and fraxel I've found that what patients experience is very different to what both the doctors and the marketting website say.
I still enjoy coming to this forum and hearing and sharing the opinions of other consumers of products.
Its like the difference between getting "word of mouth" recommendations to restaurants (often outstanding food) or just reading the Good Food Guide (very hit and miss).
So without further ado,
*plonk*
you have just been put in my trashcan amonster. I don't need advice from a junior member like you who starts insulting people a whole 3 days after joining up.

The aggressive and insulting tone of your reply is unacceptable on this forum amonster. People rightly, use this forum as a source of personal, informal information.
The moderators and myself work hard to maintain a polite decorum.
You have been banned for 2 weeks.

That was a bit rough doctornev.
Saying someone had "half a brain" isn't that insulting.
Especially when you consider some of the behaviour that goes on in other discussion groups.

I think this was a fair ban kally,
Do a search on amonster.
Amonster came bursting onto the scene, made 9 posts all about Fraxel in just 3 days. He had a very high level of knowledge of the process including exact energy settings and exact model numbers of the latest machines. And then he got cranky at a senior member because he was asking qusetions on the forum instead of going straight to a doctor.
The guy looked dodgy. I bet he was a doctor who had bought a fraxel machine himself and was trying to drum up business.

nice work over the weekend mrgym.
You got two people banned in just one weekend of work. Impressive.
I bet you are a huge hit at parites :)

But back onto topic - can any of the moderators answer whether fraxel will decrease a male's facial hair.
I'm just curious after the huge flame war that erupted over the topic

Sorry Tanny,
That was probably my fault. Maybe I should have warned some of the people before banning them for a week.
I am new to this moderating job afterall. Apologies to any of the regulars I've offended.

jomol I think you acted very reasonably in banning that series of posters over the w/e.
The forum was starting to become a pretty unpleasant place and your actions keep it nice and friendly and informal
jomol I would just like to thank you for all your hard work in keeping this forum a pleasant civil place to discuss cosmetic work. You should feel bad at all.
Keep up the great work as a moderator!

Fraxel has not been shown to reduce the hair in any way.
It uses a totally different wavelength to the hair removal IPLs. In addition since it is a "fractional" resurfacing technique it is hihgly unlikely to laser the exact point where teh hair follicle lies

Jomol I think you are doing a great job keep everything civil. I've been involved in lots of other forums on beauty topics and it always degenerates into a -for-all between the big personalities.
Chin up! You can't please everyone all of the time!

What's the difference between your conventional acne laser treatment procedure with the Fraxel laser treatment?

Hi papercup,
I presume you are asking a direct question of dr.grace rather than one of us plebians?
I've only ever had antibiotics and creams for my acne.
I'm one of the lucky ones who hasn't had to consider laser or roaccutane
