Hello wild red boots or is that bimbo barbie??
Do you know what you sound like on the forum? Pathetic. The forum is designed for people (genuine people) to ask questions and discuss their experiences with cosmetic procedures. Pardon me dr nev, NON-INVASIVE cosmetic procedures. (whats the difference, there both are negative!!)
If your THAT good looking why do you feel the need to put a toxic poison into your body? And further more, promote it as some god send quick fix fountain of youth elixir! As a pyschology graduate and undergraduate naturopath, I find it fascinating the amount of people that feel the need to talk about THEMSELVES and not focus on the REAL issues. That being perhaps persuading someone to look to the beauty inside and not some poison with real potential side effects! Have you really researched botox properly? or just listened to what your doctor has told you? What did you graduate in, barbie fashion and gel nails??? have you ever heard of vitamins, minerals and herbs? N-A-T-U-R-A-L is best barbie!!!!!! And besides barbie, ken's gone camping for good!

Ah,

A challenge.

Almost duel ticketed. Psychology and naturopathy both.

Lets deal with the easy issues and see who's done the research. Maybe you should think before blowing off your mouth. Especially since things have been relatively civil on this forum in its admittably young life. Congratulations you are the first to stir things up

1. Botox was first used in Opthalmology patients to correct a couple of eye disorders. This was in the late 70s
2. It next saw widespread use in cerebal palsy *****ren to help relax some of their muscle contractures to help them walk
3. Huge doses were used in these *****ren - hundreds of times what is used cosmetically. For over two decades
4. All medications have a side effect profile - get over it
5. How many other drugs can you list that have research of almost 30 years showing an outstanding safety profile used in literally millions of patients?
6. Perhaps some of those "natural" products you list which aren't subjected to any sort of rigorous safety studies at all. Things like fish oil which is deadly before an operation

Now having dealt with the easy medical issues lets talk about psychology which you claim is your forte.

Don't you think its people's choice to look the way they want to?
If they want to look nice. wrinkle free or old thats their choice.
Botox is an inexpensive, quick way of achieving real results.

Unlike some of those "natural" creams I've used for months and months (cellulite creams anyone?) that didn't do a thing. And this was after I had paid well over $300 in a year. And believe me I have tried a LOT of natural products.

Botox is safe, relatively inexpensive (especially compared to the top end creams) and made a huge difference to my features. I choose to dress up nice when I go out. I choose to spend an above average sum of money on make up, clothes and shoes (especially shoes).

For better or worse people will and do judge you by the way they look. Its the way of the world.

I choose to have a face which no one thinks looks "botoxed" or fake. I like have a wrinkle free face

Thats my choice and I'm not going to let some "psychology graduate" tell me otherwise.

I have to admit I sort of agree with pia sentiments.

People should just be happy with the way they look and I the whole cosmetic craze is putting a sour taste in my mouth.

Having said that starfish has one good point. It makes no difference in my mind if you are spending a lot of money on "natural" products or "synthetic" products to look good.

It doesn't matter which one you are spending you money on. You should just be happy with the way you look

"Growing up is mandatory, looking old is not"

Caucasions with fair skin were never meant to live in countries like australia anyway. I consider it my way of balancing out the aging effects of UV light I was never evolved to handle.

As for natural products. Like nandos_fire (although I disagree with the sentiment) I too have tried virtually all of them. Hardly did anything. Spent a lot of money for nothing. First time I had botox though ... trust me you can really see the difference in 5 days. Even more gratifyingly people just kept asking if I had taken a holiday recently ... I just looked really refreshed. Loved it.

I would suggest the person who has issues is you Ms high and mightly psychology graduate. Do some research first then come back here. Here's a hint. Type in oh "botox and safety" into google.

Congratulations. *plonk* You're the very first person on this forum to be dumped into my killfile

De-lurking for the first time. I've been thinking about Botox for along time now.

Pia does have a point.

We should all be comfortable with outselves. After researching for 6 months I've decided not to get Botox done. It does strike me as just a little bit vain.

Maybe I'll change my mind when I'm really old but I'm quite comfortable with who and what I am now

Surely Pia's post breaks a whole swathe of rules about non-abusive language.

There's no need for this.

And stop feeding the trolls people.
