I was having coffee with my girlfriend at a outdoor cafe over the weekent - telling her all about my IPL hair removal - when a woman turned around and started giving us a "lecture"!

It was pretty much about how she KNOWS lasers cause cancer, and I was probably already in deep trouble... (of course she bags botox, chemical peels, coffee, just living and breathing I suppose!) Sigh, you don't even know where to start to try to set them right and not that people with that sort of rigid thinking would understand anyway!

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Hi babybear!

I have also experienced some negative press/comments from firends and especially my sisters about botox!! (maybe because I am better looking then them ha ha). my sisters have resorted to calling me 'Barbie' and 'Bimbo'. The barbie name is ok as yes, i do look like barbie (sometimes a curse). Being called bimbo is surprisng as I have a double degree!! and am considering a third (in between performing, my real passion). I believe people behave or respond in this way because they are uneducated and do not have ALL the facts. My advice to them, is to do your research and them come back and tell me what you have learned. (if anything) and stop being soooooooooooo judgemental!!!!

I've got a funny story.

I've got a friend who works as a beauty therapist and she was totally anti-botox, anti-lasers, anti-doctors in general.

After I got my botox she demanded to know where I had got my "facials."

Needless to say she has come around now.

HI babybear.

Its nice to know I'm not the only one. Its got to the stage where I only tell my very closest friends. And even then I pick and choose them very carefully. Which is a bit of a shame since the place I'm near does a nice group discount for 4 people. Its hard to find 3 other people who understand!
