Does anyone know of any place in Sydney that deso electrolysis for hair removal.

I would get laser hair removal but I've got pretty dark mediterranian skin. I'm really worried about getting permanent light patches of skin.

I've done a stack of reading on this and figure electrolysis is the safest way to go for permanent hair removal.

Has anyone else here had electrolysis for hair removal?

I wouldn't write off laser hair removal quite yet Kristos.

I'm ethnic greek and my skin is quite dark olive in summer. Like you I was considering electrolysis too but I got talked out of it. I didn't like the thought of each individual hair getting needled.

The Doctors were very cautious but were confident they could do hair removal on me with minimal risk. They have done african americans before so they thought my skin should be ok.

They started off at a really low power setting on the first session and then gradually worked their way up to make sure my skin tolerated it and wouldn't react badly. I was wearing 30+ sunscreen for a month before and after every treatment.

There were no side effects for me. I would still consider it.

Dunno if they are any good or not but see PM for these guys.

I haven't been there myself but its one of the few places I came across when researching.

They were the most helpful and knowledgable on the phone when I was asking questions.

I agree with Elias though. Laser Hair Removal is supposed to be almost perfectly safe for meditteranian skins if the operator is cautious.

I can PM you the location of the Doctor who did me if you like

Hi Kristos,

I was very similar to you. I wanted laser hair removal but I was really worried about the possibilty of pigmentation changes because of my dark skin.

I first used electrolysis for the small area around my jock area.

It took ages.

And it hurt!

After trying it for the comparitively small area around the jock area I just took my chances with laser hair removal.

Its seriously not worth it. They have to put a probe into each individual hair. I can't imagine getting it for a large area. I got laser hair removal after that for my back and chest.

Legs would just hurt too much and take 1/2 a day!

Please see PM for an electrolysis place. They were nice and competent but I just can't recommend the technique.

Hmmmmmm

I should have proof read that.

The "small area" around my "jock" area is not of course referring to whats inside my jocks!

it is referring to the hairy area around the edge of the jocks.

Just want to clear that up

Hi Kristos.

I was a bit concerned about the possible side effects of laser hair removal too. But really I think electrolysis for hair removal is dead.

If you get the hair removal done by a competent doctor and they are conservative with the power settings then its really quite safe.

I can't imagine that getting each and every individual hair needled is an efficient way of removing the hair.

Have a chat to someone about laser hair removal. They can really put your mind at ease and its really the only practical way of removing hair from large areas.

I have had electrolysis on my tummy as a few friends said that Laser was not permanent and a waste of money. The beautician that did the electrolysis also convinced me that the light based technologies that nearly all beauticians have are not lasers and do not work.

Anyway so had electrolysis done on my tummy and boy did it hurt!!!! I have had laser surgery on my birthmark which is like an iron being put on your skin and taken off but I foud electrolysis more painful. Did it work. No. Although they did say another couple of treatments would be needed.

I have actually caused scared the area from where I have tried to get in grown hairs out with tweezers.

Shells,

Just Google "electrolysis Sydney" or "electrologist Sydney" or "hair removal Sydney" that should give you dozens of places to start with.

Hi,

I had electrolysis done on my face (upper lip), underarm and bikini line. It's not the most comfortable experience but the results are permanent. I had mine done 5 years ago and I've never looked back.

You need to be careful of scarring. I did extensive research before deciding upon my electrologist. There is only one I would recommend in Sydney. She uses both thermolysis and galvanic and she is highly skilled and a lovely person. PM me if you would like her details.

Cheers,

nyb
