Hi everyone I've booked a fantastic weekend away for myself and a partner.
The highlight of which should be a visit to a famous Day Spa in the blue mountains.
Which do people here feel is more relaxing or more "special." A Spa treatment in a luxurious city hotel with all the convenience of no commuting and high end fittings. Or do you prefer the rustic simple style of some of the country spa retreats?
The thought of tackling the traffic this Friday afternoon is making me wish I had just booked a room at the Shangri La Hotel.

If I want to relax, then there is no question about it.
A country spa away from all the sounds, smells and sites of a city is the way to go

It feels like a holiday.
Going to a city day spa is relaxing but it feels more like going to a . its just a 2 hour outing

traffic.
Blah!
Give me a nice convenient city spa anyday. After fighting the traffic on friday to get out for a weekend I only feel like punching a hole in a wall not relaxing at a spa.

travel stresses me out.
I like a nice relaxing city spa. If I want a real holiday I will often just book a deluxe room for myself and my husband in the middle of the city and order room service all weekend.
I love those kind of laze about holidays.

I quite like the rustic rural retreats in the mountains.
As I said you can't really relax unless you get a long way away from home.
And spas are first, foremostly and most importantly all about relaxing

I used to like the ultra luxury city day spas.
As I get older I find I like getting away and going to some of my favourite spots in Daylesford. The drive is only 2 hours, we always take friday off so we drive up before the weekend traffic starts anyway and its absolutely gorgeous there.
Sometimes you just need a relaxing 2 hours without going to the effort of driving to get there.
I vote for luxury city spa.
Conveneince is luxury too!
I used to love the convenience of the city spas.
But as you get older its just so nice to get away from it all.
I've got a couple of favourite country retreats.
The daylesford area is lovely

I love getting away from the city too.
I find I just can't relax properly unless I'm well away from everything

My vote goes to some of the ultra luxury city spas.
The country ones are nice but the whole service experience lacks that final bit of polish. Its hard to beat some of the 5-star hotel ones. Especially when you get a day spa that is on the top floor.

I love getting away to the spa retreats in the blue mountains.
Are we allowed to recommend spas on the forum or must we PM them as well?
